WINDY CITY BULLS ACQUIRE RIGHTS TO HENRY SIMS & THIRD-ROUND DRAFT PICK FROM SALT LAKE CITY STARS

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – The Windy City Bulls, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights of Henry Sims and a 2018 third-round pick from the Salt Lake City Stars in exchange for Diamond Stone.

Sims (6-10, 248) has four seasons of NBA experience with stops in New Orleans (2012-13), Cleveland (2013-14), Philadelphia (2014-15) and Brooklyn (2015-16) after going undrafted in 2012. He’s posted career averages of 7.6 points and 5.0 rebounds through 135 games (61 starts). Sims has a career field goal percentage of .471, while shooting .767 from the free throw line.

Sims has also appeared in 109 NBA G League contests (101 starts) with four teams, averaging a near double-double. He spent time with Salt Lake City a year ago and collected averages of 17.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists on .462 shooting in 27 games.

The Georgetown product spent four seasons with the Hoyas, appearing in 121 games with career averages of 4.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists, while shooting .493 from the field. Sims most productive season was his senior year when he tallied 11.6 points 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 blocks, while starting all 33 games.

Sims is currently overseas playing in the LBA League, which is the top professional basketball league in Liberia.

Stone (6-11, 255) has seven games of NBA experience after being drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans in the second round (40th overall) in the 2016 NBA draft out of Maryland. He has appeared in 13 games with Windy City this season, posting averages of 13.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 21.7 minutes per game.
