HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO Harris Bank, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, beat the Erie BayHawks 105-90 to even up the season series at one apiece.

Six players scored in double figures for Windy City led by Tyler Harris who poured in a team-best 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Mychal Mulder, Brandon Wood and Ryan Arcidiacono each tallied 18 points, while Karrington Ward scored a season-high 15 points. Jaylen Johnson registered his second double-double of the season with a 13-point, 11 rebound performance.

It was a nip and tuck first quarter started when Windy City jumped out to an early 9-5 lead, but the BayHawks went on a 7-0 run to pull ahead. The Bulls responded with a run of their own led by Tyler Harris who scored 13 points in the opening quarter. Wednesday was the third consecutive game in which Harris has scored 10 or more points in the first period. Despite shooting 41 percent from the floor, the BayHawks led 28-26 at the end of the first quarter.

The BayHawks’ Roscoe Smith posted a double-double with a 23-point, 10 rebound performance while Raphiael Putney tallied 15 points and Jaylen Morris and Derrick Marks had 12 points apiece.

Windy City found their rhythm in the second quarter as they ran out to an 18-1 run and led by 15 with 7:18 left in the half. As a team, the Bulls shot 52 percent from the floor and 66 percent from the three-point line. The Bulls controlled the pace from the outset and led by double figures for most of the quarter. Erie made a run towards the end of the half to cut the lead to single digits with 10 seconds remaining. On the ensuing possession, Arcidiacono beat the buzzer on a driving layup. Windy City outscored the BayHawks 34-21 in the second quarter and the Bulls carried a 60-49 lead into halftime.

Windy City picked up where they left off in the third and increased the lead to 20. The BayHawks shot 35 percent and the Bulls held them to 14 points in the quarter. The 14 points scored was the lowest total for Erie in any quarter this season and Windy City went into the final 12 minutes leading 84-63.

The Bulls extended the lead further into the fourth, outscoring Erie 8-5 to begin the quarter and led by 24, which was the largest lead of the night. However, the BayHawks wouldn’t go away and responded with a 17-8 run to cut the deficit to 15, but that is as close as they would get. The 15-point win is the largest margin of victory for Windy City this season.

The Bulls have a week off before their game next Wednesday against the Maine Red Claws.
