DESPITE SEASON HIGH BY BEACHEM, BULLS FALL TO GO-GO, 106-89

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, fell to the Capital City Go-Go Thursday night, 106-89.

With a shortened roster, the Bulls got off to a slow start on the road. The Go-Go jumped out to a quick 19-7 lead behind Jalen Jones with nine points and three rebounds in the first half, as well as former Chicago Bulls player Jerian Grant with six points and three rebounds. Capital City led 23-13 after one quarter of play.

Windy City came storming back in the second quarter on a 25-13 run led by V.J. Beachem and Ferrakohn Hall, with the Bulls grabbing their first lead of the game in the final minutes of the half, 38-36.

Beachem knocked down 3-for-6 from three-point range to end the half with 12 points and five rebounds. Hall did it all with 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Justin Simon contributed as well with nine points, two rebounds and a block. Windy City took a 42-40 lead into the halftime locker room.

To open the third quarter, Grant knocked down three-pointers on three consecutive possessions for the Go-Go to swing the game back in favor of Capital City. Hot outside shooting sparked a 20-4 run, with the Go-Go out-scoring the Bulls 30-16 in the third frame, opening up a 72-58 advantage.

The Capital City offense continued in the fourth leading to 66 second-half points to grab the victory behind 17 second-half points from Grant.

Grant led all scorers with 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Jones contributed 18 points, five rebounds and a steal.

Leading the way for Windy City was Beachem, posting season highs in both points and rebounds and notching a double-double with 20 and ten respectively. Perrion Callandret had strong outing as well recording ten points, 11 rebounds and five assists.

Windy City returns home to host the Grand Rapids Drive on Saturday for Deaf Awareness Night at Sears Centre Arena. A portion of the ticket proceeds will also benefit the Australian Red Cross Bushfire Relief Effort (fevo.me/wcbaustralianredcross).
