DOYLE’S 27 POINTS NOT ENOUGH, BULLS FALL TO HERD 111-94

 The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, fell at home to the Wisconsin Herd on Friday night, 111-94.

In the third match-up of the season between Windy City and Wisconsin, the offense was flowing throughout the first half as the two squads combined to score 122 points.

The Bulls found the range both inside and out, hitting on .521 from the field as a team and .611 from long range.

The Herd struggled to knock down field goals in the first 24 minutes but made good on 9-for-12 from the free throw line to keep pace.

Wisconsin also used 19 points from Milwaukee Bucks Assignment player Dragan Bender, to go along with 11 points and six assists from guard Jaylen Adams to stay within four of Windy City at the break, 63-59.

The Bulls were led in the half by Milton Doyle with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists, Chicago Bulls Two-Way player Adam Mokoka with nine points and eight rebounds, and Thomas Wilder off the bench with 11 points, six assists and two rebounds on 5-for-5 shooting.

Windy City’s hot shooting cooled and Wisconsin clamped down the defense to outscore the Bulls 25-8 in the third quarter to take an 84-71 lead heading into the final stanza.

Fouls and turnovers were the differentiator in the game with the Bulls committing 19 fouls and 15 turnovers overall to just 12 fouls and nine turnovers for the Herd.

Bender proved to be a force in the paint, finishing the game with 27 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals. Also leading the way for Wisconsin were Jaylen Adams with 21 points, ten assists and five rebounds. Guard Frank Mason pitched in 22 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Doyle’s 27 points, nine rebounds and five assists on 11-for-19 shooting helped cut the deficit to as little as five in the fourth quarter. Chipping in as well were Mokoka who finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc, and Chicago Bulls Assignment player Chandler Hutchison with 14 points 11 rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots.

Cristiano Felicio contributed nine points and eight rebounds on assignment from the Chicago Bulls.

Windy City (10-10) will play the second of a back-to-back Saturday night as they host the Westchester Knicks on Chuck Jones Big Draw Night presented by Zenni.
