Windy City Bulls Bounce Back with Win Over Greensboro Swarm

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, beat the Greensboro Swarm 112-105 Saturday night. Windy City guard Javon Freeman-Liberty led all scorers with 37 points on 12-for-19 shooting from the field, including seven three-pointers. 

After nine lead changes in the first half, Greensboro led 50-48 at halftime.Freeman-Liberty knocked down three first-half three-pointers to lead the Bulls with 13 points after the first two quarters. 

The Bulls went on a 10-0 run in the beginning of the third quarter, outscoring the Swarm 33-22, resulting a nine-point lead going into the final 12 minutes. 

Greensboro got within four-points in the final two minutes, however, the Bulls responded with a quick layup from guard Jeremy Pargo and a dunk from Freeman-Liberty to extend the lead to eight. The Bulls went 6-for-6 from the free throw line to finish out the game, winning 112-105. 

Windy City guard Ethan Thompson shot 8-for-13, scoring 29 points for the Bulls. Forward Henri Drell finished with 12 points, while center Daniel Oturu chipped in 10 points off the bench. 

Greensboro was led by guard Theo Maledon with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. Charlotte Hornets Assignment center Kai Jones also had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. 

With the win, Windy City improved to 4-7 in the regular season, while Greensboro fell to 2-8. 

Next up, the Bulls head to Washington, D.C. to take on the Capital City Go-Go on Wednesday, Jan. 25 and Friday, Jan. 27. Both games are slated to tip-off at 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on NBAGLeague.com.
