Windy City Bulls Can’t Keep Up with Long Island

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, lost to the Long Island Nets 118-110 Monday night on the road. Windy City guard Ethan Thompson led the team with 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the field to go along with eight rebounds.

Chicago Bulls Two-Way guard Carlik Jones notched his eighth double-double of the season for Windy City, recording 21 points and 10 assists. Windy City guard Javon Freeman-Liberty added 21 points off the bench. Forward Nick King chipped in 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds in his fifth start of the season for the Bulls. 

After trailing 60-46 at halftime, the Bulls chipped away at the Nets’ lead in the third quarter to enter the final period trailing by eight. The Bulls got within two points of Long Island early in the fourth quarter, but the Nets managed to hold off Windy City’s late push to earn a 118-110 win.

Long Island guard Jordan Bowden scored 26 points off the bench after shooting 10-for-18 from the field and 4-for-8 from the three. Brooklyn Nets Assignment center Day’Ron Sharpe finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds.

With the loss, Windy City fell to 2-4 in the regular season, while Long Island improved to 6-2.

Next up, the Bulls have a rematch with Long Island on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The game is slated to tip-off at 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on NBAGLeague.com.
