WINDY CITY BULLS SOAR PAST LONG ISLAND 123-94 ON OPENING NIGHT

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – The Windy City Bulls (1-0), presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, rolled past the Long Island Nets 123-94 in the team’s first-ever game Friday night at the Sears Centre Arena.
The Bulls led by as many as 35 points in the second quarter and never trailed in the contest. Forward Alec Brown drained the first shot in team history with a baseline jumper during the team’s first possession of the game. Brown finished with 17 points.
Bulls forward J.J. Avila led all scorers with 21 points while also grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out six assists. Guard Spencer Dinwiddie earned a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists.
Beau Beech paced Long Island (0-1) with 20 points and Chris McCullough chipped in 16 points.
Leading 33-18 at the end of the first quarter, Windy City broke the game open with an18-0 run capped by a dunk by Thomas Walkup. The Bulls held a 62-37 lead at intermission.
Windy City finished the game shooting 55% from the field while out-rebounding Long Island 53-37. Forward Alfonzo McKinnie came off the bench to lead the Bulls in rebounding while also adding 16 points. Every Bulls player scored in the contest.
Opening Night featured several memorable events to commemorate the launch of Windy City’s inaugural season. During a break in the first quarter, Windy City unveiled their official team mascot, Gus T. Bull, and Chicago Bulls legend Horace Grant and the six Chicago Bulls NBA championship trophies were on hand for fans to take pictures with. The first 1,500 fans also received a commemorative opening night hat presented by BMO Harris Bank.
The Bulls hit the road to take on the Erie Bayhawks Saturday night at 7 PM ET and will return home to the Sears Centre Arena on November 19 when they host the Texas Legends during “Chicago Sports Night.”
