Windy City Fends Off Herd, Notches 100th Win in Franchise History

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, defeated the Wisconsin Herd 111-101 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin Tuesday night for the franchise’s 100th victory in its five-year history. Devon Dotson stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, eight assists and seven steals for Windy City.
The Bulls started the game strong, jumping out to a 26-17 lead after the first quarter. Kerwin Roach II had 10 first-quarter points to help give Windy City the early edge.
Windy City’s lead ballooned to as much as 16 points in the second quarter. But the Herd fought back to get within two points of the Bulls heading into halftime, trailing Windy City 48-46.
Windy City’s Scottie Lindsey put up 11 points in the third quarter to help the Bulls keep pace with the Herd. But Wisconsin’s momentum continued after the break, outscoring the Bulls 37-34 in the third quarter to grab a one-point advantage heading into the final 12 minutes.
However, Windy City’s defense was too much down the stretch. The Bulls forced seven fourth-quarter turnovers and turned them into 10 points. Windy City edged the Herd 29-18 in the period to coast to a 10-point victory.
Chicago Bulls Two-Way forward Tyler Cook finished with 21 points on 10-for-15 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds in his first game with Windy City since Jan. 18. Roach II finished with 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting, four assists and four steals. Chicago Bulls Assignment center Marko Simonović notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Coming off the bench for the Bulls, Daniel Oturu scored 14 points and nine rebounds. Lindsey and Bryce Alford also came off the pine to record 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Herd were led by Terry Larrier, who put up 25 points on 11-for-17 shooting from the field. Wenyen Gabriel put up a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double in just 23 minutes of action for Wisconsin.
With the victory, Windy City improved to 7-10, while the Herd fell to 6-9.
Next, the Bulls are slated to travel to the East Coast to square off with the Delaware Blue Coats on Thursday, Feb. 17. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
