CHICAGO BULLS ANNOUNCE WINDY CITY COACHING & BASKETBALL OPERATIONS STAFF
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL- The Windy City Bulls, NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, presented by BMO, have named its coaching and Basketball Operations staff for the 2019-20 season, the team’s fourth season in Hoffman Estates, IL. The staff will be led by Head Coach Damian Cotter, who will be joined by returning Assistant Coach Henry Domercant and new addition Martin Rancik. In a separate move, the Bulls have also promoted Josh Kreibich to General Manager of the Windy City franchise.
Cotter joins Windy City by way of the Capital City Go-Go where he served as lead assistant for the G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards during the 2018-19 season. During the 2017-18 season, Cotter coached with the Long Island Nets, affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets.
A native of Australia, Cotter has 10 years of FIBA coaching experience, including five World Championships and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He began his coaching career in 2000 as head coach of the Knox Raiders Senior Men’s Team in the South East Australian Basketball League. In 2007, he became the head coach of the New South Wales Institute of Sport in Sydney, coaching there until 2014. From 2006-13, Cotter was involved with the Australian Junior Men’s Team as an assistant, and then head coach, before joining the Australian Senior Women’s Team as an assistant from 2013-16.
Among the players Cotter coached while involved in Australia’s professional basketball circuit are NBA veterans Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills, Matthew Dellavedova and Dante Exum.
Kreibich has been promoted to the General Manager position following stints as the team’s Assistant Coach and Manager of Basketball Operations during the first three years of the franchise. The University of Arizona alum joined Windy City prior to the franchise’s first season as its Coordinator of Basketball Operations. Prior to Windy City, the Tucson, AZ native spent time working with the Northern Arizona University and Concordia University Texas Men’s Basketball Teams.
Joining Cotter on the Windy City bench is Domercant, a Chicago native who returns for his second season with the team after helping the franchise to its first NBA G League playoff appearance during the 2018-19 season. Rancik (pronounced Mar-teen Ran-sik) has been promoted to the assistant coach position with Windy City following a stint as Chicago’s Basketball Operations Associate last season.
Ben Sanders, who returns for his second season with Windy City, has been promoted to Player Development Coordinator after spending last season as the Basketball Operations Coordinator.
Rounding out the Windy City Basketball Operations staff is Matt Comer, who returns for his third season with Windy City as Head Athletic Trainer.
