Windy City Bulls Bounce Back Against Delaware Blue Coats

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, beat the Delaware Blue Coats 119-112 Saturday night at NOW Arena. Chicago Bulls Assignment guard Carlik Jones, Windy City guard Ethan Thompson and center Daniel Oturu finished with 21 points apiece.
Windy City forward Henri Drell shot 7-for-11 from the field, scoring 20 points. Center Aaron Wheeler chipped in 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting.
The Blue Coats got off to a hot start, leading by as many as nine points in the first quarter, however, the Bulls cut the deficit to four heading into the second period. Windy City trailed Delaware 69-67 at halftime despite Drell’s 15 points and Thompson’s 14 points in the first half.
Windy City took a three-point lead heading into the final 12 minutes after an 8-0 run late in the third quarter. The Bulls continued to extend the lead, going up 13 with just over two minutes to go. Oturu scored 11 fourth-quarter points -- shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field in the period -- to help Windy City to a 119-112 win.
With the win, Windy City improved to 16-13 in the regular season, while Delaware fell to 20-7.
Delaware was led by center Michael Foster Jr. with 22 points. Philadelphia 76er’s Two-Way forward Louis King chipped in 21 points, while Philadelphia 76er’s Two-Way guard Mac McClung finished with 20 points.
Next up, Windy City takes on the Maine Celtics on Sunday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 21 at NOW Arena. Sunday’s game is slated to tip-off at 2:00 p.m. CT and Tuesday’s game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT. Both games will air live on NBC Sports Chicago.
