Windy City Bulls Fall to Charge, Freeman-Liberty Scores Career-High 39

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, lost to the Cleveland Charge 112-105 Monday afternoon at NOW Arena. Windy City guard Javon Freeman-Liberty scored a career-high 39 points -- shooting 14-for-20 from the field -- and grabbed eight rebounds.
Windy City guard Jeremy Pargo chipped in 18 points off the bench. Guard Ethan Thompson finished with 15 points and six rebounds for the Bulls.
After a slow start, the Bulls scored 33 in the second quarter to come within eight points at halftime. Windy City continued to battle as Freeman-Liberty scored 13 points in the third quarter. The Bulls came within three points in the fourth quarter but couldn’t keep up with the Charge.
The Bulls outscored the Charge 64-48 in the paint after shooting 49.4% from the field compared to Cleveland’s 46.6%.
Cleveland Cavaliers Two-Way center Isaiah Mobley led the Charge shooting 10-for-17 from the field, scoring 25 points. Forward Jamorko Pickett scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
With the loss, Windy City fell to 3-6 in the regular season, while Cleveland improved to 6-1.
Next up, the Bulls take on the College Park Skyhawks at NOW Arena on Thursday, Jan. 19. The game is slated to tip-off at 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago+.
