Windy City Bulls Fall to the Cleveland Charge Despite Jones Scoring 36

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, lost to the Cleveland Charge 114-108 Monday night at the Wolstein Center. Windy City was led by guard Carlik Jones with 36 points, eight assists and five steals.
The Bulls took charge early on with Jones and Chicago Bulls Two-Way forward Malcolm Hill scoring 14 first-half points each to take a 56-47 lead at the half.
The Charge submitted a 34-point third quarter to grab a two-point edge heading into the fourth period. Windy City stayed within striking distance for the remainder of the game, but the Bulls couldn’t grab the lead from Cleveland, falling to the Charge by six.
Windy City guard Ethan Thompson scored 19 points on 3-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Hill finished with 17 points, five assists and three steals, while fellow Chicago Bulls Two-Way forward Kostas Antetokounmpo finished with 12 points, six rebounds and a pair of blocks.
Cleveland was led by guard Sharife Cooper, who notched a double-double of 30 points and 17 assists. Charge forward Mamadi Diakite finished with 23 points and guard Sam Merrill connected on seven of his nine three-point attempts to score 21.
As a team, Cleveland shot 43.6% from the three-point line which helped fuel the Charge’s second-half comeback. Windy City connected on 41.4% of its long-distance attempts.
With the loss, Windy City fell to 8-5 on the season, while Cleveland improved to 11-4.
Next, the Bulls travel to Motor City to take on the Cruise Wednesday, Dec. 14. The game is slated to tip-off at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
