Windy City Bulls Fall in Overtime to Westchester Knicks

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, lost to the Westchester Knicks 129-126 Thursday night in overtime. Windy City was led by Chicago Bulls Two-way forward Adama Sanogo with a double-double of 32 points and 15 rebounds.
Chicago Bulls Two-way forward Onuralp Bitim finished with 20 points and five assists. Guard Quenton Jackson chipped in 12 points off the bench.
Westchester took a four-point lead at the end of the first quarter despite Windy City shooting 63.6 percent from the field to start the game. Sanogo scored 18 points for the Bulls in the first half, however, the Knicks hung on to a 72-68 lead at halftime.
Windy City outscored Westchester by five in the third quarter to take a one-point lead heading into the final 12 minutes. Sanogo made a layup with five seconds to go to take a two-point lead, however, New York Knicks Two-way forward Jacob Toppin hit two free throws to force overtime. The Knicks reached the target score of 128 first after Toppin made a layup to win the game.
Westchester was led by Toppin with 39 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Brandon Goodwin chipped in 34 points and nine assists.
With the loss, Windy City fell to 1-5 in the regular season, while Westchester improved to 3-5.
Next up, Windy City will travel back home to face the Delaware Blue Coats on Saturday, January 13 at NOW Arena. The game is slated to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcasted live on NBAGleague.com
