Windy City Bulls Bounce Back Against Motor City

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, ran past the Motor City Cruise 110-99 Wednesday night at the Wayne State Fieldhouse. The Bulls led by 10 or more points for the entirety of the final three quarters of the game, ahead by as much as 27 points midway through the third period.
Windy City was led by guard Carlik Jones and guard Javon Freeman-Liberty with 21 points each.
The Bulls jumped out to an early 32-21 lead to end the first quarter. Windy City outscored the Cruise 30-19 in the second quarter, extending the lead to 22 at the half.
Windy City shot 49.4% from the field and had six players score in double figures. Chicago Bulls Assignment Marko Simonović notched a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Chicago Bulls Two-Way forward Malcolm Hill shot 5-for-9 from the field, scoring 17 points.
Windy City guard Ethan Thompson put up 17 points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers and shooting 7-for-10 from the field in the process. Chicago Bulls Two-Way forward Kostas Antetokounmpo finished with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The Cruise was led by guard Jules Bernard with 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the field. Detroit Pistons Two-Way forward Buddy Boeheim shot 50% from the field to chip in 21 points.
With the win, Windy City improved to 9-5 on the season, while Motor City fell to 3-13.
Next, the Bulls return home to take on the Grand Rapids Gold in back-to-back games on Friday, December 16 and Saturday, December 17. Both games will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. CT. Friday night’s game will be streamed on NBAGLeague.com, while Saturday’s will be broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago.
