Windy City Bulls Announce 2022-23 Coaching and Basketball Operations Staff

By Windy City Bulls Staff /October 26, 2022

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, announced the team’s basketball operations staff for the 2022-23 season, headlined by Chigozie Umeadi being named Windy City Bulls General Manager and Henry Domercant returning for his second season as Head Coach.

Umeadi enters his first season as Windy City’s GM while also serving as the Chicago Bulls Director of Basketball Operations -- strengthening the connection between Windy City and its parent club. Umeadi joined the Bulls organization in December 2020 after eight years working for the NBA.

Domercant, a Naperville, IL native, played collegiately at Eastern Illinois University and first joined Windy City as an assistant coach in 2018. Prior to coaching for the Bulls, Domercant enjoyed a professional career that spanned over a decade and included stops in Greece, Russia and Italy. He began his coaching career in 2017, when he joined the Maine Red Claws coaching staff.

As for Domercant’s coaching staff, Kwadzo Ahelegbe will return as an assistant coach -- the same position he held with Windy City last season. Paul Miller and Chris Kent also both join the staff as assistant coaches.

Before joining Windy City, Ahelegbe spent time with the Minnesota Timberwolves as a video coordinator and played for the University of Northern Iowa from 2006-2011.

Miller got his start with the Chicago Bulls in 2011 when he became a video intern. Over the next decade with the Bulls, Miller worked his way up to assistant to the head coach -- a role he held from 2019-22 -- before moving over to Windy City’s coaching staff.

Kent also joined Windy City’s staff after several seasons on the Chicago Bulls bench. With Chicago, Kent started out as a coaching intern for the 2018-19 season before being promoted to video coordinator and eventually assistant coach.

Filling out the rest of the bench, Parker Bunn was named a coaching associate and Mike Greenman will fill the role of video coordinator after serving as a basketball operations assistant last season. Marko Andjelkovic was brought on as a player development coach after recently working with the Chicago Bulls during the 2022 NBA Summer League and training camp.

Jordan Bellomy will return for his second season as head athletic trainer and Patrick Ebke will join as the assistant athletic trainer. Ebke previously served as the assistant athletic trainer at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Rounding out the basketball operations staff, Josh Malone was promoted to the role of Assistant General Manager, while Nick Reick will fill the position of Basketball Operations Manager.

Windy City will tip-off the season with back to back games against the Wisconsin Herd. The first being on Friday, November 4 at the Oshkosh Arena at 7p.m. CT. The Bulls home opener will be the following night at NOW Arena at 7p.m. CT.
