Windy City Bulls Sweep Legends in Texas

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, stomped the Texas Legends 135-110 Thursday night. Windy City was led by Chicago Bulls Assignment guard Carlik Jones with 29 points after shooting 11-for-21 from the field.

Chicago Bulls Assignment center Marko Simonović notched a double-double of 24 points and 17 rebounds. Windy City guard Ethan Thompson chipped in 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field.

Simonović scored 14 of his 24 points in the first quarter to help Windy City to a 17-point lead. The Bulls didn’t let up in the second quarter, leading by as many as 23 points. Jones hit back-to-back three-pointers in the final 40 seconds of the half giving Windy City a 69-52 lead going into halftime.

After a 33-point third quarter, the Bulls remained in control with a 102-83 point lead headed into the final 12 minutes. Windy City shut down Texas in the fourth quarter with a commanding 25-point lead to finish out the game. 

Windy City led the whole game, shooting 53.1% from the field. The Bulls out-rebounded the Legends 55 to 33. 

Texas was led by guard Amauri Hardy with 30 points, four rebounds and six assists. 

With the win, Windy City improved to 14-12 in the regular season, while Texas fell to 6-18. 

Next up, Windy City heads to Mexico City to face the Capitanes on Sunday, March 12. The game is slated to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on NBAGLeague.com.
