Windy City Bulls Fall to the Santa Cruz Warriors

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, lost to the Santa Cruz Warriors 112-98 Saturday night at NOW Arena. Windy City was led by Chicago Bulls Two-Way guard Carlik Jones with 27 points, six rebounds and eight assists. 

Windy City forward Henri Drell shot 6-for-12 from the field, scoring 22 points. Chicago Bulls Assignment center Marko Simonović scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. 

The Bulls got off to a quick start, taking a 33-28 lead at the end of the first quarter. Drell scored 11 points in the opening period after connecting on three three-pointers. Santa Cruz battled back with a 29-point second quarter to take a four-point lead at halftime. 

Jones scored 12 points in the third quarter as Windy City continued to fight, outscoring the Warriors 24-23. However, Santa Cruz caught fire late in the game, scoring 32 points in the final 12 minutes. 

Golden State Warriors Assignment forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Golden State Warriors Two-Way forward Anthony Lamb scored 23 points each. 

With the loss, Windy City fell to 7-10 in the regular season, while Santa Cruz improved to 8-9. 

Next up, the Bulls head to Michigan to take on the Grand Rapids Gold on Monday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on NBAGLeague.com.
