Windy City Knocks Off Greensboro, Simonović Scores 29

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, defeated the Greensboro Swarm 117-108 Wednesday night at NOW Arena. Chicago Bulls Assignment center Marko Simonović led the charge with 29 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in the victory.

Five other Windy City players reached double figures, led by 17 points apiece from Devon Dotson and Daniel Oturu. Chicago Bulls Two-Way forward Malcolm Hill stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. Ethan Thompson and Scottie Lindsey each chipped in 10 points for the Bulls.

Greensboro’s Cameron McGriff finished with 33 points off the bench, while Arnoldas Kulboka and Kai Jones scored 22 and 20 points for the Swarm, respectively.

The Bulls got off to a bit of a slow start, trailing Greensboro 30-26 after the opening period. But Windy City submitted a dominant second period to take an eight-point advantage into halftime. Simonović led all scorers with 16 first-half points, but Hill wasn’t far behind with 14 points.

The Bulls’ lead grew to as much as 15 points in the third quarter, but the Swarm cut it to 10 points entering the final period. Windy City led by double digits for most of the fourth quarter, but a late surge by the Swarm cut the Bulls’ lead to just four points with 2:59 left to play. However, Windy City fended off Greensboro to walk away with a nine-point victory.

Windy City held Greensboro to 39.1% shooting from the field, while the Bulls knocked down 45% of their attempts. The Bulls also commanded the paint, scoring 64 points in the paint and grabbing 19 offensive rebounds. Meanwhile, the Swarm scored 40 points in the paint and secured 10 offensive boards.

With the win, Windy City improves to 12-16, while Greensboro sits at 6-19 with a 12-game losing streak.

Next, the Bulls are back at NOW Arena on Sunday, March 20 for The Carushow!, which will feature white headband and Alex Caruso poster giveaways. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago+.
