Open Player Tryouts Take Place on September 6 at Chicago Hope Academy Fieldhouse

The Windy City Bulls, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, will host open player tryouts on Saturday, September 6th at Chicago Hope Academy Fieldhouse: 2641 W. Harrison St. Chicago, IL 60612. Two sessions of tryouts will be held and local prospective players only need to attend one tryout time that works best for their schedule. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of Chicago Bulls and Windy City Bulls basketball operations personnel ahead of the 2025-26 NBA G League season.

The cost of the tryout is $288 (including taxes and fees), and no refunds will be given due to the limited availability of the tryout. Registration is limited to 100 participants per session. Upon check-in on the day of the tryout, all attendees are required to sign a Medical Release and Eligibility Document that will be provided. A valid government-issued photo ID will be needed for check-in.

Session 1: 8:00am - 11:30am

Session 2: 12:30pm - 4:00pm

FAQs

Who can try out? 

Any participant age 18 or older (on the day of Tryouts), as long as either (i) you have graduated high school, or (ii) the class you would have graduated with has graduated. 

Are there any costs? 

Yes, the cost is $288 to register. Please note, no refunds will be given due to the limited availability of the tryout. Interested participants may register online. Can I pay with a credit card? 

Yes, you may use a credit card to register.

What does my registration fee include? 

The registration fee includes an opportunity to try out in front of and be seen by Windy City Bulls and Chicago Bulls basketball operations personnel. Also included is a Windy City Bulls tryout shirt. 

How can I sign up? 

Registration for the 8am session is available here. And registration for the 12:30pm session is available here. Please only register for one session of tryouts. Early registration is highly encouraged. Registrations will not be accepted over the phone. 

Can I register on the day of tryouts? 

Yes, but space is limited. Early registration is highly encouraged. There is no guarantee of open spots on the day of the tryout.

Where will the tryout be held? 

The tryout will be held at Chicago Hope Academy Fieldhouse: 2641 W. Harrison St. Chicago, IL 60612. Prospective players only need to attend one tryout date. 

What time will the tryout begin? 

Check-in for the morning tryout session begins at 8am with warmups beginning at 8:30am. We encourage all participants to arrive early to ensure check-in is completed by 8:30am.

Check-in for the afternoon tryout session begins at 12:30pm with warmups beginning at 1:00pm. We encourage all participants to arrive early to ensure check-in is completed by 1:00pm.

Where can I park? 

Parking is free in the lot in front of the complex, however, it is limited. 

Will there be professional basketball scouts there? 

Yes, representatives from the Windy City Bulls and Chicago Bulls basketball operations departments will be evaluating the tryout. 

Are spectators allowed to come watch participants tryout? 

Due to limited space in the gym, we ask that no additional family and friends come to watch tryouts unless it is absolutely necessary. If that is the case, there will be limited standing room only in a designated spectator section inside the gym. No chairs may be brought into the facility. 

When will I find out if I have been invited to training camp? 

The Windy City Bulls basketball operations staff will notify those players who were selected to attend Windy City Bulls training camp. 

Will food be provided? 

No food will be provided by Windy City.  

Will there be access to locker rooms? 

There will not be any on-site lockers available for storage – please do not bring valuables. 

What can I bring to the facility? Do I need to bring my own towel, water, etc? 

Water fountains will be available in the facility. Please bring anything else you need (i.e. towels, ankle braces, socks, energy bars) as no other equipment, food or beverages will be provided. 

Do I need an agent to participate? 

No, you do not. 

What happens if I sign up and cannot attend? Will my money be refunded? 

Absolutely no refunds will be given under any circumstances due to limited availability for participation in the tryout. 

Will I be reimbursed for any travel costs? 

No, all participants must cover any travel, lodging and transportation costs. 

What do I need to bring to check-in? Do I need a valid ID? 

Yes, you must have a valid government-issued photo ID to check-in as well as your completed registration form if you do not pre-register. 

Do I need to sign a waiver? 

Yes, all participants are required to complete the registration documents. 

Will there be any transportation and hotel accommodations for the event? 

No, you must arrange your own transportation and overnight accommodations. 

Will the Windy City Bulls host any additional tryouts? 

These will be the only open tryouts that the Windy City Bulls conduct prior to and during the 2025-2026 season.
